Troubleshooting
4. CLV490 does not respond to an
external signal that ends the reading
pulse (sensor input, serial interface)
Reading mode "Start/stop":
Trigger mode: one external sensor
Incorrect end of reading pulse para-
meterized in the CLV490.
No signal from the sensor at the
"Sensor“ switching input.
Trigger mode: two external sensors
If "IN 4“ switching input is choosen as
trigger source for end of reading interval:
no sensor connected or polarity inverted.
The object does not pass the reading
pulse sensor for trigger start with the
conveyor running.
Trigger mode: serial interface
Incorrect command used.
Laser timeout exceeded.
In the "CLV-Setup" program:
choose the D
EVICE CONFIGURATION tab,
click the R
EADING TRIGGER PARAMETERS
button.
END OF READING INTERVAL section: is "gen-
erated by Trigger Source" selected?
Check wiring of the sensor
(see Fig. 5-5, Page 5-22).
Measure output signal of the sensor.
Connect sensor to the "IN 4“ switching
input. Check wiring of the sensor (see
Chapter 5.5.7 Connecting the "Sensor"
switching input, Page 5-22).
Choose the D
EVICE CONFIGURATION tab,
A
SSIGNMENT OF INPUTS section: is "IN 4"
selected (active high or active low)?
Click the READING TRIGGER PARAMETERS but-
ton, E
ND OF READING INTERVAL section: is
"generated by IN 4“ selected?
Install reading pulse sensor in front of the
CLV490 in conveying direction.
See also Chapter 4.4.2 Mounting the ex-
ternal reading pulse sensor, Page 4-11
See 2. Remedy
See remedy in Table 8-5, Page 8-9.
5. CLV490 does not terminate the reading
clock or terminate the clock too late
Reading mode "Tracking":
Incremental encoder not connected or
connected to the wrong switching input.
If incremental encoder supplied by
CLV490: encoder not connected to
ground.
Incorrect reading mode parameterized
in the CLV490.
Incorrect resolution of incremental en-
coder parameterized in the CLV490.
No conveyor motion (CLV490 does not
receive incremental signals).
Laser timeout exceeded.
Connect incremental encoder to the
"IN4“ switching input. Check wiring
(Fig. 5-6, Page 5-23). Check the output
signal of the incremental encoder.
Choose the DEVICE CONFIGURATION tab,
A
SSIGNMENT OF INPUTS section: IN 4:
"Conveyor increment" selected?
Insert jumper between pin 5 and pin 15
(CDM490: S 1 switch "SGND_GND").
In the "CLV-Setup" program:
Choose the D
EVICE CONFIGURATION tab,
READING TRIGGER SOURCE section: "Sensor
Input" selected? I
NTERNAL TRACKING sec-
tion: "active" selected?
In the "CLV-Setup" program:
I
NTERNAL TRACKING section: "Distance per
encoder pulse" correctly selected?
Start the conveyor.
See remedy in Table 8-5, Page 8-9.
